Charity! - Child's Play

"Charity!" is the section of this site dedicated to Tech-related philanthropy near and dear to our hearts, here at Tech and Junk. Take a moment to consider giving to these incredible causes!

Child's Play

You're a kid in the hospital with nothing but time, pain and boredom on your hands. Child's Play helps kids of all ages in hospitals across the world, by providing video games, books and toys to help pass the time and make the experience more bearable. Consider giving to this fantastic charity.

About Child's Play

"Since 2003, we’ve set up and organized Child’s Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 70 hospitals worldwide. Over the years, you as a community have answered the call and come together to raise millions of dollars.

Child’s Play works in two ways. With the help of hospital staff, we set up gift wish lists full of video games, toys, books, and other fun stuff for kids. By clicking on a hospital location on our map, you can view that hospital’s wish list and send a gift.

Child’s Play also receives cash donations throughout the year. With those cash donations, we purchase new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience." - Child's Play

Today

"Nearly 10 years ago, gamers from around the world united to help kids at Seattle Children’s Hospital have a brighter holiday. Today, over 90 facilities worldwide benefit from the support of Child’s Play, and that number only grows. Every addition to our network and every gift that ends up in a hospitalized child’s hands is thanks to you, our incredible supporters. We couldn’t be more proud to kick off the 10th year of the Child’s Play holiday drive, and we’re thrilled to announce that the community has already raised $970,000 for sick kids. It’s an inspiring way to start the season, and we’re deeply grateful for the many game marathons, bake sales, Humble Bundle purchases, and more that make up that incredible starting point." - Child's Play
